For the cushion/pillow you will need:-
Stylecraft Special DK Bluebell (1082) 220 grams (649 meters – 709 yards)
Stylecraft Special DK Gold (1709) 20 grams (59 meters – 65 yards)
Stylecraft Special DK Black (1002) 15 grams (45 meters – 49 yards)
Stylecraft Special DK Matador (1010) 5 grams (15 meters – 17 yards)
18” square cushion/pillow
4mm hook
Needle to weave in ends
Instructions:-
Front
The graph is 68 dc stitches (UK terminology) and 80 rows.
To make the graph, chain 69 stitches using a 4mm hook in Bluebell. Start the graph at the bottom right hand corner at row 1, the 1st stitch being in the 2nd chain from hook (this is the right side of your work). Row 2 is started with 1 chain which is your first stitch in the graph and follow the graph from the bottom left hand side at row 2 (this is the wrong side of your work).
Continue working up the graph to the top.
Finish of and weave in all ends.
Block to a size of 18” x 18”
Back
To make the back of the cushion, chain 69 stitches using a 4mm hook in Bluebell, dc (UK terminology) into 2nd chain from hook, dc into each stitch (68 stitchs).
Next row Chain 1, dc into 2nd stitch, dc into each stitch to end of row
Make 80 rows of dc
Block to a size of 18” x 18”
Joining border of the cushion/pillow
Put the front and back of the cushion cover together with wrong sides together.
With the front side of the cushion cover facing you, join the Matador yarn to the left-hand side of the work 12 stiches up from the bottom left-hand corner.
Working through both the front and back of the cushion covers make 1 chain, with the 4.00mm hook. Make 1 dc (UK terminology) into each stitch (going through both the back and front the of cushion covers) to the corner, 3 dc’s in corner, 1 dc in each stitch along the bottom, 3 dc’s in corner, 1 dc in each stitch up the right-hand side, 3dc’s in corner, 1 dc in each stitch along top, 3 dc’s in corner, 1 dc in the first 12 stitches down the left-hand side.
Put the cushion/pillow pad into your cushion.
Continue making 1 dc down the left-hand side of cushion, slip stitch into first chain.
Finish of and weave in ends.
